ISODYN 2

ISODYN 2

Hot water comfort: *** in accordance with standard EN 13203

What is the ISODYN 2 system? – It is the extraordinary, patented solution from VAILLANT GROUP, thanks to which the Tiger Condens boiler, equipped with a system of storage tanks whose total capacity comes to just 42 litres, ensures the same amount of hot water as a boiler with a separate large tank – it allows for the draw off of 185 litres of hot water at a time. In comparison with storage water heaters, Tiger Condens allows for further hot water draw-off after its tanks are depleted – it uses a through-flow heating system. When hot water is no longer being drawn off, the boiler replenishes the hot water supply in the tanks within 5 minutes.

Examples of the ISODYN 2 system functioning
In the case of a 4 to 5 minute shower, the expected water consumption is 30 to 40 litres at 35-40°C, which comes to 8 l/min. With such a small usage, the boiler supplies a sufficient amount of hot water, and there is no need to use the reserves in the tanks.

A bath uses about 150 to 200 litres of hot water. When such a large amount of hot water is needed, the boiler supplies DHW from its reserves in addition to that supplied by through-flow heating.

Once draw off has ceased and both the tanks have been depleted, the Tiger Condens boiler enters the supply replenishing mode. This process only takes about 5 minutes. Just as much time as it takes to dry off after a bath.

Boilers with the ISODYN 2 system have the capacity to supply two bathrooms while guaranteeing full comfort.

Advantages of the system
Large amounts of hot water.
In comparison to boilers with an external tank, the Tiger Condens and its system of built-in tanks need a shorter time to prepare a sufficiently large hot water supply. In addition, even after its reserves are depleted, Tiger Condens can continue to supply DHW with its through-flow system.

Stable temperatures. The traditional tanks with double-pipe heat exchangers have uneven hot water temperature. This results in water of different temperatures flowing into the sink, which is certainly unpleasant. This problem may also arise with several layered tanks. This instability is the result of design – the flow of cold water into the tank can be so dynamic, that it passes through the barrier between hot and cold water; it can then flow out of the tank without being heated. In the ISODYN-2 system, this problem has been eliminated, thus achieving a stable temperature independent of the water flow.

Preventing the spread of Legionella bacteria. The temperature of water within the tanks is higher than 45° C. On top of that, Tiger Condens boilers initiate a tank heating cycle every 3 hours, not allowing the temperature to fall. Thus, the conditions within the tanks remain unfavourable to the spread of Legionella bacteria at all times.

Limescale deposits do not form in the tanks. Limescale deposits form when water comes in contact with surfaces which have a high temperature – it is thus a common problem in tanks with double-pipe heat exchangers, in which they can cause a significant increase in the time needed to heat the water and eventually may cause the boiler to break down. In the ISODYN-2 system, tanks are not a source of heat, thus deposits do not form.
Protection from corrosion in unnecessary. The built-in tanks are constructed from stainless steel, thus the anodes used to protect against corrosion are no longer necessary, unlike in common DHW tanks. Tiger Condens boilers thus do not need to have the state of the anode annually checked, making servicing easier.
